Jensen, Laura Mae (nee Patton), known by her friends as Pat, died at the age of eighty-eight on March 5, 2010 in Englewood, Colorado. She was born on January 1, 1922 in Caldwell, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her two brothers, Lester and Leonard, her beloved husband James (Jim) and by her daughter-in-law Beth Jensen. She is survived by two sons, Larry (Diane) of Englewood, Colorado and Gary (Wendy) of Wayne, Illinois, by her grandchildren Matthew, Christopher, Daniel, Lauren, Erin and Patrick, and by her great granddaughters Morgan and Taylor.
Pat grew up in Hillview, Illinois and graduated from Milton High School. She graduated from St. Elizabeth Nursing School of Granite City, Illinois in 1942, and then joined the Army Nursing Corps. She served in the Caribbean where she advanced to first lieutenant, before being honorably discharged in 1946. Afterwards she worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dwight, Illinois where she met and married James Jensen in 1948. She was hired in 1960 as a school nurse at the Rockwood School District in Missouri, from which she retired in 1987.
She lived from 1955 until recently in Ballwin, Missouri, where she enjoyed a wide variety of interests, her church, knitting and crocheting. Pat was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, visiting a number of countries including Russia, Australia, England, France and Scandinavia and she also enjoyed cruises with family and friends. She loved the mountains of Colorado, where she has resided since 2008.

Friends may visit with family at the Schrader Funeral Home at 14960 Manchester Road, Ballwin, Missouri, from 4 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10 at the Funeral Home, to be followed by Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband Jim.
