I knew Gary for several years at AB. I considered Gary a good friend and mentor even though our work interaction was limited. Gary was a friendly and caring indvidual, and we were all better people for knowing him. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.

Gary & I worked together for over 20 years at AB.
He and I shut down the Beverage Group back in 1989 and I wouldn't be where I am today without his mentoring.
He brought me to my first Elbow Benders meeting and we shared many good times & beers together.
He was truely a great man and I am proud to have called him my friend.
He always had a story to tell and loved to share them with all of us.
I wish to convey my condolences to his family.

Mrs. Stiers and Family:
Coach Stiers coached my daughter and her friends in 5th and 6th grade at Villa/Oak Hill. He was so encouraging and never had anything but a smile on his face. He was a great coach and role model. Thank you for sharing him with Villa for so many years.

Thank you, Coach, for the wonderful work you did with our girls. Because of you they will love the game of basketball forever. You made them work hard but you made it absolutely fun. Thanks for the memories.

Dear Karen, Ashley, and Ryan,
Our thoughts and prayers have been with you often this past week. We wish we could have spent more time with the Stiers family up to now, but treasure those memories that we have.
As March Madness picks up momentum, we will think of Gary and his passion for basketball and his beloved Tigers (may they some day get to the Final Four).
Please know that you will continue to be in our hearts and minds during these days of mourning and remembrance.
With love and deepest sympathy,
Jeff, Nick, and Charlie Melvoin

We are so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. Gary came out of retirement to skillfully coach our daughter, Riann, in 5th & 6th grades in 2005 & 2006 at Oak Hill School. Gary helped their team gain confidence and most of all, have fun. They learned how to play the game and finally found success!!! It was obvious that Gary loved basketball and he was a great teacher of the game. Gary was a good man and he helped their sweet little team of 11 & 12 year old girls to understand and appreciate a sport he loved. Remember the good times with Gary and know that he made some little girls smile and have fun. Thank you for encouraging him to come back and coach. Best wishes to your family in this difficult time.

Karen, Ashley & Ryan,
Gary was such an awesome, humble man. Everyone who has met Gary is a better person because of him. Ricky just loves him so much and always speaks highly of Gary. He lives on through his grandsons Andrew and Nick. Make sure and tell them all the fun things they did with grandpa and how much he loves them as they get older. Andrew and Nick now have their gardian angel watching over them, Grandpa Stiers.
Love Always,
Tony, Becky and Little Tony Andrews

I worked with Gary for many years and had the pleasure of working for him for a few. He was great inspiration. As a boss he was a good coach. He guided people in the right direction. He was also a dear friend. His stories were always entertaining. He was a good person and will be missed by many.

I am so sorry to learn of Gary passing away. I'm certain he was a wonderful son, husband, father and grandfather. Gary was my first baby sitting job in Hermann many years ago - he was a fun child to take care of. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Betty

My deepest condolences to the Stiers family. I worked with Gary for 25 years at A-B. He was a wonderful mentor in my early career. He always had a positive attitude and was in a group of the select early Anheuser Busch employees. He will be truly missed and always on my mind.

My dearest condolences to everyone in the Stiers family. Mr. Stiers was a huge part of my life through basketball and the Saints basketball team for several years (around 1996-1999). I always remember him putting in extra time after practice with me to work on my shot. I learned so much from him not just about basketball but also about life. I also remember his constant smile and positive attitude. It was with crushing sadness that I found out of his passing. I am sorry I could not make the trip to St. Louis as I live in Nashville now but I had surgery less than a week ago. Please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers. Mr. Stiers you will be missed.

Was sorry to hear that Gary passed away. Gary was a few years younger than me but I remember him when we were in scouting and attended St. George in Hermann. He always seemed to be upbeat and smiling. I'm sure he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
May he rest in peace.

It was my pleasure to work with Gary a lot during his final years at AB. Gary was someone you could count on to do many things:
o Give you a straight answer.
o Give you an accurate answer.
o Let you know when you were full of it.
To Karen and his family, my deepest sympathies on your loss.

My dear daddy was a true example of grace under pressure. He handled his disease with true bravery and class. He is now reunited with his dear dad Harry and probably regaling everyone with one of his famous stories.

I met Gary at the Fox Theater at a Sprint Event at which Karen and I were hosting customers. He impressed me as a kind, generous man, who was proud of his wife and family. I know he will be greatly missed. My family is praying for you all.
